How to Fish All Fish Locations & Baits
Every normal catch, mini-boss, and story bait from the Lighthouse to the Volcano.
Most How to Fish creatures are tied to one island and one lure tier. Once you know the local bait, the encyclopedia fills in by repeating that pool. Bosses and story fish are the exception: they need a Boss Lure tier or a quest item that shops do not sell. Community catalogs list 49 creature prefabs (38 fish/shell creatures and 11 bosses/mini-bosses including Clam, Leech, Bing Bong, Foot Snail, and Seagull). This page is the checklist. Patch 1.0.10 slightly reduced Anglerfish health. Difficulty from Patch 1.0.9 changes how hard they hit, not which bait they want.

Needlefish (or another endangered catch such as Bowl Fish / Seahorse) paid to the Tourist becomes the Carrot. Coconut from the center tree is Bing Bong bait. Return the Pufferfish trophy for Rocks coordinates. Patch 1.0.4 nerfed Pufferfish and Whale health.

Five volcano-native fish to the scientist produce the Fish Bucket. Throw the regular whale into the crater to spawn the mutated fight. Hand the Whale Fin to the scientist for the military boat and the sail home. Ending.
Ambient
Seagulls spawn on multiple islands. They steal land catches and can lift players (Let me go). They are specials, not a lure pool. Seagulls.
Drip variants
Every normal creature can roll a rainbow-named Drip form in the same pool with the same bait. Kill it for Fishipedia. Feed extras to the Reel of Fortune. Collector is the non-Drip encyclopedia.
