How to Fish Planning Tools & Official Feeds

Use the wiki pages and Steam hubs. There is no in-wiki mythic value calculator.

Tools & Utilities

How to Fish does not ship a companion app with a fish-weight calculator, a trick-shot parabola solver, or a gear DPS spreadsheet. This hub points at the wiki pages and official Steam feeds that actually track the live game through PATCH 1.0.12. If a third-party site asks you to log into Steam to unlock a rod calculator, close it.

What this wiki actually hosts

Use these pages as the working tools:

What this wiki will not pretend to host

There is no dropdown that prices a mythic albino by kilogram. Official notes do not publish per-fish sell tables or weather spawn charts. Drip variants use the same bait as the normal form; treat rainbow names as the rare layer and log them in the in-game encyclopedia (Tab).

There is no planner that outputs the perfect bounce angle. Trick shots are a physics toy. Practice on rocks, do not paste a trajectory into a fake tool.

There is no loadout checker that certifies you for Mutated Bowhead Whale. Buy attachments on the Island 5 Assault Rifle, cook a heal pile, and read Boss Fights. Patch 1.0.10 lets you leave that pile on the ground (64 items, quest gear prioritized).

Official and community feeds

  • Steam store — buy, news, hubs.
  • Steam news — patch notes. Restart Steam after each hotfix.
  • Steam discussions — player reports. Treat them as reports, not as patch text.
  • Steam guides — player writeups. Cross-check island names against this wiki’s five-island route.
  • SteamDB — concurrent-player charts (launch peak near 373,971 on 26 August 2026).
  • Community Discord from Dazed Games — #common-bugs for red Steam Relay text (Patch 1.0.9) and save-deletion steps if 1.0.9 did not recover a file.

Print the version from player.log after 1.0.10 if a lobby refuses mixed builds.
