Combat Achievements

Getting Started

Kill any creature for the first time. This is earned automatically as you begin fishing. Every player’s first step in How to Fish.

Noob

Get any kill while no kill score multiplier is active. Simply catch or kill any creature without any active multipliers. This is a natural byproduct of early gameplay.

Drip

Kill any drip creature for the first time. Drip creatures are a specific enemy type that appears in certain areas. Explore different islands to find them.

360 no scope

Use the 360 to kill a creature but do not use a scope. The 360 is a spinning attack move. Time it correctly to hit flying creatures like seagulls without aiming down sights.

Competitive eating

Consume a mini-boss after defeating it. After winning a mini-boss encounter, eat the reward to unlock this achievement. Make sure your hunger bar is ready.

Impressive

Get a kill when a 5x killscore multiplier is active. These multipliers appear randomly during gameplay. When you see one activate, go hunting immediately.

Everyone’s dream

Use dynamite to kill a seagull. Dynamite is an explosive item purchasable from select shops. Wait for seagulls to group together, then fish with dynamite equipped.

Easy

Kill any boss under 10 seconds. Boss fights require the right equipment and timing. Focus on high-damage weapons and catch bosses off guard.

Handyman

Defeat the final boss, but only using your hands. This challenging achievement requires you to beat the endgame boss with bare-handed combat. Practice your fist timing before attempting.

Fully equipped

Unlock and apply all available upgrades for a single weapon. Dedicated weapon progression unlocks this naturally over time. Focus on one weapon type to earn this faster.

Survival Achievements

Let me Go

Wait for a seagull to pick you up before shooting at it. Seagulls will grab you and carry you briefly before dropping you. Let this happen, then shoot the bird mid-air.

Terrorizing bird

Save the islanders from the Terrorizing bird. Pay attention to island defense events. When a Terrorizing bird appears, defeat it quickly to protect the settlement.

Deadliest catch

Take part in a campaign with the military to defeat the big creature. Military campaigns are rare events. Join when available and contribute to the coordinated assault.

Bean

Complete the game in just one hour. This speedrun achievement requires efficient progression. Skip non-essential content and focus purely on main objectives.

We are so back

Complete the game. The final progression achievement. Defeat all bosses and reach the ending to unlock this trophy.

I am speed

Get the best engine for the boat. Purchase and equip the top-tier boat engine from the boat shop. This is one of the most straightforward achievements.

Collection Achievements

You caught a pufferfish

Catch a pufferfish. Pufferfish appear randomly in coastal waters. Keep fishing and you will eventually hook one.

YOU CAUGHT A NESSIE

Catch a Nessie. This legendary creature is extremely rare. Visit known spawn points at night and use high-value bait for the best chances.

This fish has legs

Catch a goblinshark with legs. This mutated variant appears occasionally. Continue fishing in deep waters to encounter this rare catch.

Fishipedia

Find and kill all shiny variants of every creature in the game. This endgame collection challenge requires catching every shiny variant. Track your progress using the in-game bestiary.

Collector

Catch and kill every creature in the game. Fill out the complete bestiary by encountering all creatures at least once. Exploration and varied fishing locations are key.

Gambling Achievements

You addict

Gamble a fish. Visit the gambling table and bet any fish from your inventory. The lake map offers the easiest gambling opportunities.

All in

Take part in the roulette, bet on the green, and hope to get lucky. Roulette is available at gambling stations. Bet on the green segment for the highest risk and reward.

MAX WIN

Achieve the highest possible reward on a gamble, which is 7x your bet. This rare outcome requires both luck and a significant bet. Go all-in on green for the best multiplier.

GOLD GOLD GOLD

Get a Legendary skin as your slots reward. Slot machine rewards occasionally include legendary skins. Keep gambling to improve your odds.

Progression Achievements

Who stole my beer

Hunt the culprit and kill it, then bring the corpse to the Lighthouse Keeper. A specific creature steals your beer. Track it down, defeat it, and return the evidence to the Lighthouse Keeper NPC.

I’m the bird now

Make your ship fly. This requires the best boat engine and significant upgrades. Continue upgrading until your boat can achieve flight.

Getting an upgrade

Upgrade the engine for your boat. Purchase any engine upgrade from the boat shop to unlock this achievement.

Dinnertime

Catch a fish, grill it first, and then turn it in to the Lady in the forest on her island. Find the grill, cook a fish, and deliver it to the Forest Lady NPC on her island.

Yummy in my tummy

Start grilling a fish but do not stop until it is burnt. Overcook a fish on the grill deliberately. Ignore the usual cooking timing and let it burn completely.

Grillmaster

Start the grill for the first time. Use the cooking grill for the first time. This is unlocked early by experimenting with the cooking mechanic.

Rich! Millionaire

Wait for a precious catch and then sell it for 100,000 or more. High-value fish appear randomly. Keep fishing and sell rare catches for massive profits.

Happy birthday Curtis

Find and interact with the birthday cake on maps. Curtis birthday cake appears on certain maps. Locate and interact with it to unlock this hidden achievement.

Hello alligator

Aggro an alligator. Alligators appear in swamp areas. Provoke one into attacking to unlock this achievement.

Vacation

Find a tourist who cannot swim, but ensure they do not drown. Locate a tourist NPC in water, then guide them safely to shore without letting them drown.

Tips for Completion

Priority Order

Start with progression achievements that happen naturally through normal play. Focus on combat achievements during boss fights. Save collection achievements for last, as they require comprehensive exploration.

Co-op Advantages

Many achievements are easier in multiplayer. Bring friends along for boss kills, collection runs, and challenging combat achievements.

Save Often

Some achievements require specific timing or rare circumstances. Keep multiple save files to avoid losing progress on tricky achievements.
